Rider Swap Disney World
Rider Swap Walt Disney
World
Don’t let its name mislead you. You
don’t just get to swap riders like it implies. I wish somebody would have
explained this to me before we attempted this, we stood in line for 2 hours
with an 8 month old baby. YIKES!
Rider swap means there is an
ineligible person in your party so a Fastpass for this ride is granted to your
party. An ineligible person is usually a
young guest, one who doesn’t meet the height or age requirements of an
attraction, and cannot be left unsupervised.
How this system is supposed to work
is by walking up to the Fastpass attendant with the ineligible child. The attendant will hand you a card that you
carry with you while you wait in line. When you get to the ride (right before you
enter) you hand them this card. They will swap you out with a fast pass (which
is good for 3 additional people anytime during that day).
The person who stayed back with the
child/ineligible person will now hop into the Fastpass line. So it does cut
some of your time down but you still have to wait on Fastpass. So if it is busy
at that time of day your party will wait in the original line and then again in
the Fastpass line.
Once we figured this out it became
a pretty smooth system.
